SGP is an independent micro press, founded in Louisville, Kentucky by writer Christian Loriel Lucas. It was born from the love of short fiction, a frustration with publishing barriers, and the desire to create opportunities for emerging writers who just want to get their work out there, one story or one collection at a time.

Our Mission

Sweet Girl Press’s mission is to publish short fiction. Period. The stories we collect will come from the genius of emerging or little-known writers, especially those from marginalized communities. We will seek stories that are exceptional and too unique to fit into a comfortable, stuffy box, while we build an audience and develop relationships with authors.

Christian Loriel Lucas is the founder and editor of Sweet Girl Press. It started as a little notion in her busy brain and an avenue to publish her own work without anyone else’s permission.
